Surgical philosophy

Dr King's philosophy on surgical care is centred on putting the patient first. She brings together evidence-based knowledge and precise technique with a genuine commitment to understanding each patient as a whole person, not simply a diagnosis.

Informed decision-making sits at the heart of her approach. She creates an environment where patients feel comfortable asking questions, taking the time to listen carefully and explain options clearly, so they feel confident and supported from the first consultation through to recovery. Surgery can be a daunting experience, and Dr King pairs clinical excellence with compassion and reassurance, recognising that good outcomes rely as much on trust and communication as on technical skill.

She also places great value on collaborative, multidisciplinary care, working closely with general practitioners, gastroenterologists, endocrinologists and allied health professionals. Clear, timely communication with referring practitioners ensures coordinated, evidence-based care that is tailored to each patient's individual needs.
